COVID Reveals Inequalities In Education To Some And Reaffirms It For Others

The Harvard Gazette wrote an article entitled, How COVID taught America about inequity in education, in which they explored the disparities of education such as the lack of technology, the varying roles of schools beyond the basics of education, and funding. The article also focuses heavily on the racial achievement gap and its exacerbation due to the pandemic. Sadly, these disparities are seen in all levels of education from elementary schools to community colleges. After reading the article, what are your thoughts? What important disparities did the author miss? What are some ways your institution is handling the impact of COVID? How can institutions utilize funds from the CARES Act to support these students meaningfully?
